Write to your MP and demand they speak up against the government's abandonment of the Dubs Amendment.

Dear (MP)

I am writing regarding the government's decision to terminate the resettlement of unaccompanied minors.

The government must be made fully aware of the huge human cost of this decision.

Few of the children and young people affected by this decision are going to give up on reaching the UK - many will risk their lives to make the journey. Large numbers will remain or become destitute in the process making them highly vulnerable to exploitation and other dangers.

A significant number of these minors will become involved with traffickers - who in turn will funnel them into the hands of the criminal gangs who run the modern slave trade (to become sex workers, domestic servants, part of the drugs industry etc). The link between the refugee crisis and modern slavery is well documented.

The abandonment of the Dubs Amendment is a dereliction of our moral and legal duty to these children and young people and holds a frightening mirror up to the place the UK is becoming.

Please use your voice to speak out for child refugees and demand we reenact the Dubs Amendment.
